Tucked away in the hills near the Lao border, Prao is a frontier town that also serves as the centre of the Co Tu hill tribe. You can see the distinctive wooden homes of the Co Tu as you approach Prao, and the women working the fields in their unique woven dress. Co Tu women are the only weavers in Southeast Asia who still weave beads into their fabrics by hand.
Ba Hom village gives you a rare opportunity to spend a night in a Co Tu village and experience their culture first-hand. We stay overnight in a traditional stilt house, where we eat local specialties and interact with local families. You can go for a trek, bathe in the hot springs and the river, or just relax and soak up the atmosphere of village life.
